“I swore never to be silent.”

Elie Wiesel quote

There is a point that you will reach, as a survivor, where you will feel strong enough to start speaking up. You will feel healed enough in your spirit, body, and mind.  You will feel the powerful courage within your heart that will get stronger, day by day.  It will begin quietly, where you nod in agreement when someone else is sharing their painful past.  Before you know it, you will be in a place where you are in warrior-mode, wearing your armor of bravery, and your sword of truth.  You will join the fight against abuse, and you will bring strength and encouragement to your fellow survivors in the world.  It may be as simple, yet needed, as speaking up in support groups, so that others can know they aren’t alone in what they’ve experienced.  It could be as big as sharing your story at a speaking engagement to help raise awareness.  It doesn’t matter how you do it, all that matters is that you will be a Warrior when you do.

You will get to this place.  It will take time, self-care, self-love, and empowering knowledge.  It will take letting go, and the acceptance of living in the present moment.  It will take lifting your inner child up, holding them tightly, and loving them in the way you needed to be loved.  In time, you will get there.  You will be a Warrior too.

Echo in a way that carries.  Speak up, and speak loudly so that others can know they aren’t alone.

Blessings to you,
